Let’s raise a glass together, y’all, cause Friday is finally here! Who else has been waiting since Sunday night for it to be here already? (Raising both hands here!) We made it so onto the weekend!
Today, we’re celebrating all things linen! With the warmer weather officially upon us, it’s time to pack away those pesky wools and replace them with lighter, more breathable materials. Does anyone else love linen as much as me?
At this point, y’all probably know I am a longtime fan of J.Jill(it’s not just your moms clothing line, ladies!). I fell in love with their minimalistic, soft, wear-with-everything collection last Spring and been a fan every since! Your closest absolutely needs this striped linen maxi dress (I also bought it last year in black). Last Summer this chambray shirt dress was a huge hit as well – all of which I’ll be pulling out again this Summer.
When I laid eyes on this midi skirt crop top combo, it was an immediate love connection. You know, one of those outfits you throw on and instantaneously feel like yourself? It that odd to say about a simple skirt and top?
I was hesitant at first to move the crop top into the shopping cart ’cause this girl is quickly moving out of that comfort zone in terms of age, but the higher waist and slightly longer length closet the ‘midriff’gap just enough to make me feel good. You all know I cannot resist a good midi skirt either. My closet has just one too many, but I cannot say no when I come across a good one. And, for the price point, it was a no-brainer.
It’s hump day and who can resist a little fun, flirty, fit & flare to usher us through the rest of the week.
It’s been chilly this week in Chicago, but the forecast is calling for full sun and 70’s this weekend which makes my little heart sing. I’m so over these frigid temps already. Besides the weather, what’s better news than that of a great sale? You can now snag this little tile print ruffle dress for less than $100!
The happiest of Monday’s to you, everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend. Was it freezing cold for anyone else? I’m over it.
It’s Monday, y’all, and lets be honest, I think better in pretty shoes. Ya with me? I recently snagged this pinstripe flutter sleeve dress and killer metallic heeled sandals during a recent trip to Banana. As many other things here on the blog, this dress comes in misses and petites and is fitting for both the office and an afternoon with the girls. The ruffle sleeves and hem take the dress to the next level – a total conversation started.
If you follow along on Instagram, you know I spent the later part of the work week and early weekend like many of you doing some last minute Mother’s Day shopping for all of the fabulous mama’s in my life. Johanna and I had an opportunity to partner up with one of our favorite, local indoor malls and had a great time curating a list of wonderful gifts. And I mean it, anyone who knows me well knows Woodfield Mall is like a second home. It’s literally across the street from my office – yikes!
I wanted to recap our shopping experience for you as I think a number of the gifts I ended up purchasing for Mother’s Day will also make amazing gifts this season for graduation and Father’s Day (mark your calendars, ladies!).
Let’s first start with what we purchased for the fine ladies in our lives last week/weekend:
I snagged these a set of these fabulous Arhaus moscow mule mugs for my close girlfriend (perfect for any Summer celebration). Side note, Woodfield Mall has one of the largest selections of stores which sell home good compared to any other indoor mall I frequent. Between Nordstrom, Lord & Taylor, Z.Gallerie, Macy’s and Arhaus, you are sure to find a gift they’ll love for the home.
I went just a little crazy at Vera Bradley buying my mom this four piece perfume spray set (and they smell amazing!) and this necklace (pictured below). I also snagged her a slightly more pricey gift at Coach during their 25% off sale.
Johanna grabbed her mom the cutest workout set from Six:02 (a newer althetic shop powered by Foot Locker).
This lace maxi though. I’m in love. I love the tick lace detail, the longer length, the nude underlay – all of it, y’all.
This red lace maxi dress is my first purchase from Jolly Chic and I have to say I am honestly really pleased. The dress itself is very well made and the material is thicker with absolutely no flaws. The nude underlay is also made of a soft, well constructed material making the dress perfect for all of your Spring and Summer occasions. Did I mention the incredible friendly price tag?
Along with Christmas and St. Patrick’s Day, the Kentucky Derby is one of my all-time favorite annual celebrations. The style, the hats, the refreshing cocktails, the weather, good friends and endless laughter. For me, a good Kentucky Derby soiree is the kick-off to all things Summer. Anyone else agree?
