TIPS FOR MAKING CREAMY BRUSSEL SPROUTS
A number of other Instant Pot brussel sprout recipes call for cooking times of up to three minutes. In our case, we like our fresh brussel sprouts to be a little bit more ‘snappy’ as opposed to soggy. With that being said, we chose to cook these brussel sprouts for 1 minute to ensure they weren’t overly soft.
Cooking times will also depend on the size and thickness of your brussel sprouts. It will also assume you have cut your brussel sprouts in half. If your sprouts are thicker in size, consider upping the cooking time by an additional minute or two.
You can also use an Instant Pot steamer basket for this recipe, if you prefer. Simply add a cup and a half of water to the bottom of the Instant Pot, lower into the Pot and steam for the same time as noted below.
CAN I USE FROZEN BRUSSEL SPROUTS?
Yes, you can use frozen sprouts as opposed to fresh ones, if needed. If you do use frozen brussel sprouts, it’s worth noting it will take the pressure cooker longer to come to pressure.
Also, as noted above, if your frozen brussel sprouts are not cut in half I might recommend increasing the cook time by a minute or two based on their size.
