Welcome to one of the biggest, most highly anticipated sales of the year – the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has always been a time of celebration. To continue that tradition this year while adapting to the unique impacts of COVID-19, Nordstrom has taken a little extra time to ensure your comfort and safety.
This year Anniversary Sale will be from August 19–30. While the dates have changed, what makes Anniversary Sale special hasn’t—new arrivals and bestsellers from top brands at great prices.
Today, we are covering everything you need to know to shop including important dates to remember, features that are new this year, what’s in our cart and more!

IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER:
- All cardmembers can shop Early Access starting August 13—shop even earlier depending on your Nordy Club status.
- Anniversary Sale is open to everyone August 19–30. Prices go up August 31.
- You can shop the sale in open stores during normal business hours. Online shopping begins at 9:30am ET/6:30am PT.
NEW TO THE ANNIVERSARY SALE THIS YEAR
This year, Nordstrom is giving everyone the ability to preview all sale items even earlier—starting July 24. This way, you have plenty of time to save your favorites to your Wish List so you can check out faster when it’s time to shop.
Cardmembers with Icon, Ambassador or Influencer status will get even more time to shop Early Access. The higher your status, the earlier you shop. This is on top of the six days of Early Access all cardmembers get.

TIPS FOR SHOPPING THE NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE 2020
This year is a unique one in that there isn’t a lot that I need this year from the Sale. However, I do think this is typically a good time to stock up on items I know don’t normally go on sale. Those things include:
- New North Face or Patagonia Jacket – North Face, even more than Patagonia, rarely goes on sale – certainly not new styles. Because of that, I use the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale to snag a new coat or jacket for winter.
- A classic leather jacket – Several years back I bought my favorite leather jacket (featured above). Before the sale, the jacket cost nearly $500, but I snagged it for 50% off that year. If you’re looking to invest in a leather a suede jacket, I think the Anniversary Sale is a good time to grab one for yourself.
- Beauty Favorites – I also stock up on beauty products or tools I need to refill at the discounted price.
PREVIEW THE SALE
I love that Nordstrom is giving people the opportunity to preview the Anniversary Sale online this year. In years past, you could catch a glimpse of the online savings via the catalague. This year, preview the items going on sale and save all of your favorites to your Wish List. Doing so will make it easy to keep track of what you’ve got your eye on, what’s selling out, etc.
DOUBLE YOUR POINTS
Nordstom cardholders, if you haven’t already, be sure to use your Personal Double Points Day to earn 2x the points on any day you shop the sale.
SHOP EARLY
It’s hard to tell what might happen this year, but in years past popular items sell out very quickly. I would recommend shopping the sale as early, when possible. Also, check back often as sale items often get restocked throughout the sale – especially once the sale is open to the public.
DO YOUR RESEARCH
Although the sale is really fantastic, and a great way to save on tons of Fall favorites, take early stock of the items you’ve got your eyes on and then do some research. It’s possible you can find the items you are looking for stocked via other retailer – even on sale, too!
For example, I have my favorite Adidas sneakers in my cart, but found them on sale for the same Nordstrom Anniversary Sale price at Zappos.

Now you can get notified when items in your Wish List and Shopping Bag are back in stock using the Nordstrom app.
