TIPS FOR MAKING A BOMB POP DRINK

There are a number of different ways you can serve this delicious bomb pop drink recipe.  And, a number of different alcohol types you can use to create it. Here are a few of our recommendations:

First and foremost, it’s good to remember the grenadine is almost always going to be the heaviest of the three layers and will sink to the bottom of any glass as a result.  With that said, you’ll want to make sure that’s always your bottom layer if you’re using grenadine.

For the ‘white’ layer you can either choose to use Mike’s Hard Lemonade, Smirnoff Ice, a citrus vodka, regular lemonade or some choose to use water or Sprite if you’d like to minimize the alcohol content.

For the ‘blue’ layer, you can use a number of different options including blue cuaracao, blue raspberry vodka (like Bacardi Razz) or you can use the Smirnoff Ice Red, White and Berry

Smirnoff Red White and Berry Vodka is a Limited Edition Summer vodka with cherry, citrus, and sweet blue raspberry flavor. The aroma is Hawaiian punch with notes of cherry, raspberry, orange, and lemon.

The cherry and blue raspberry entry is joined by orange flavor, building to a tart raspberry lemonade peak.  It fades with creamy vanilla flavor which provides sweetness without added sugar.

ALTERNATIVE WAYS TO SERVE A BOMB POP DRINK

While we used a 16 ounce glass for a taller more dramatic effect, there are so many other great ways to serve this festive red, white and blue cocktail.  Here are just a few of our favorites:

NOTE: Of course, you will need to adjust the serving size for each of these recommendations.

  • SHOTS – Don’t’ want to make an entire 16 ounce cocktail? Go with shots instead!  You can still easily achieve the layering effect.  I would recommend choosing a tall shot glass.
  • IN A PITCHER – If pouring individual bomb pop drinks doesn’t sound fun, make an entire pitcher and allow your guests to pour themselves.
  • SLUSHY – A red, white and blue slushie is a really fun drink to serve your fourth of July guests – both adults and kids alike! Simply crush your ice and follow the same layering steps below.
