WHY WE LOVE APPLE CARAMEL MARTINIS

If you have been following along on our Summer cocktail series, you know we love cocktails that are simple and affordable.

We are adding this fresh apple caramel martini recipe to our list of favorites. Made with only a few simple ingredients, it can be made for one or doubled for larger parties.

If you are entertaining, I recommend serving this delicious Fall cocktail in a pitcher or punch bowl for your guests. Similarly, if you or your guests prefer, you can also serve your salted caramel apple martini cocktail over ice versus a martini glass. Either way, I can almost guarantee your guests will come back for more.

HOW TO MAKE AN APPLE CARAMEL MARTINI

Again, what’s great about this caramel apple martini recipe is it’s really versatile.

When serving, I like to first dip the rim of the glass in caramel sauce and then cinnamon sugar. Next, run a bit of caramel sauce along the inside of your martini glass. In my opinion, the caramel sauce adds a lot of great flavor to this cocktail. Both are optional. Feel free to omit if you prefer.

Next, add all other ingredients to a cocktail shaker over ice. Shake vigorously then pour the contents into your martini glass. Garnish with a fresh apple slice and cinnamon stick. Serve and enjoy!

CAN I MAKE APPLE CARAMEL MARTINIS IN ADVANCE?

You most certainly can! Caramel apple martinis make for an awesome Halloween cocktail or the Thanksgiving day recipe. Because of that, we love to serve this apple cider and caramel vodka cocktail for large parties.

If you are entertaining this holiday season, and want to make this fall cocktail in advance, we recommend the following instructions:

  • 1/2 gallon apple cider
  • 1 cup salted caramel vodka
  • 1/4 cup Butterscotch Schnapps
  • 1 apple, chopped into cubes
  • 3 cinnamon sticks

NOTE: Feel free to adjust the serving sizes above based on your desired alcohol content.

Add all of the ingredients into a pitcher or punch bowl. Stir until all ingredients are well combined. Place in the refrigerator for up to three days.

When you are ready to serve, dip the rim of your glass in the caramel sauce and cinnamon sugar, add a pinch of caramel sauce to each glass, pour, serve and enjoy!

CARAMEL APPLE MARTINI INGREDIENTS

APPLE CIDER

For this recipe, we used Trader Joe’s 100% Unfiltered Apple Cider. The unfiltered apple juice adds more body and flavor to this tangy apple cider cocktail. If you prefer, you can also use apple juice.

CARAMEL VODKA

We keep a bottle of Smirnoff Kissed Caramel Vodka on our bar cart all season long. The apple cider and caramel vodka mix together really well to make this delicious cocktail. Don’t have caramel infused vodka on hand? You can also use apple vodka or regular vodka, if needed.

BUTTERSCOTCH SCHNAPPS

The Butterscotch Schnapps is an optional ingredient. If you prefer to omit feel free to do so. This recipe is equally delicious with just the apple cider and caramel vodka.

CARAMEL SAUCE

We love a rich salted caramel sauce such as Torani Caramel Sauce, but feel free to use any caramel syrup or sauce of our choosing. We use the caramel sauce for both the cinnamon sugar rim and as a garnish inside the glass.

APPLES

There are two ways to use crisp apples in this apple caramel martin recipe. You can either use it as a garnish on or in your martini glass. Or, if you are serving over ice or in a pitcher, we love to cut the apple up into chunks and add additional apple flavors.

CINNAMON & SUGAR

The cinnamon-sugar combination makes for an awesome way to garnish the rim of your caramel apple martini. We typically use 2 tablespoons of sugar and 1 tablespoon of cinnamon. However, feel free to adjust based on your liking. We have also used brown sugar in place of white sugar which is equally delicious.
