Red Power Suit + Motivation Monday Series

How had I survived life thus far without the red power suit? Honestly.

One of my favorite trends this season has been all the fun, colorful suit options.  For the last few weeks, I had been searching for fun suiting that would fit my more petite frame.  There is nothing worse than investing in pieces that require the added cost of alterations.

You all know by now, Banana Republic is one of my favorite one-stop-shops.  This season, I have fallen head-over-heels for their vibrant, patterned styles.  During a trip in-stores I was so pleased to come across this gorgeous red power suit.  It immediately made me feel strong, powerful and put together.  Great news, I was able to snag it in petite sizing.

I wore it recently to a work conference I presented at a few weeks back and got an endless amount of compliments.  Not to mention, I was on my feet all day in a large conference room and felt so light and comfortable.  I’ve styled it several ways since then for a number of different types of outings.  It’s such a great set, y’all.  I love it even more knowing it will be a classic closet repeat for the next few years and one that will take me well into Fall.

Today, I am also excited to share with you all a new Motivation Monday series.

My full-time job is as Director of Operations. One of the most rewarding parts of my job is the investment I try to make in my staff. It wasn’t until a close friend recently mentioned sharing with you all here on A Lily Love Affair some of the creative initiatives I have launched at the office – one’s you might find helpful as well.

One of things I will be launching this week at the office is this same Motivation Monday series. Just something small to decrease the stress and kick the week off with success.

The intent of our Motivation Monday series is to share various videos, articles and quotes that have inspired and pushed me in the past.  I know very well how crazy both life and work can become some days – everyone can use a little motivation and positivity to start us on the right path for the week, am I right?

As we move through the next few weeks, please feel free to share with me what is meaningful and motivating to you and I will do my best to incorporate them into our weekly communications.

To kick things off, I am sharing with you all one of my all-time favorite videos.  This video comes from Mel Robbins, the creator of The 5-Second Rule.

A year or so ago, when I was faced with a few personal/life challenges, a really close friend of mine sent me the link below and it’s a message I’ve subscribe to religiously ever since.  I have passed this video along to many others over the past year and today I am glad to share it with you all, as well.

The link is saved on my iPad and I watch it no less than 2 times a month as a reminder when I feel myself getting stuck. I repeat the mantra she describes in the attached no less than 2 or 3 times a day 🙂

I hope you enjoy the first of this series!  Feel free to let me know what you think!  Happy Monday!
