Delectable Pears With Honey & Cinnamon

Jump to Recipe

These delectable pears with honey and cinnamon is the dessert you’ve been looking for. Oh my goodness!  They are incredibly easy to make and one of the best desserts I have had in some time!

Wow. Wow. And one more wow.  Y’all, I am being honest, I am typically not a big fan of pears, but this simple dessert was so delicious.  It was gone in minutes!  Cook them up in either the stove or quickly in your Instant Pot and watch them come running for seconds.

HOW TO SERVE YOUR PEARS:

What I love so much about this recipe is how quick and easy it came together.  Not to mention, how versatile they are.  We topped these pears with honey and cinnamon, a scoop of the most delicious Hudsonville Vanilla Ice Cream, toffee and walnuts.  But, there are so many other delicious ways to serve them.  Here are just a few of our other favorites:

  • Raspberries
  • Chocolate sauce
  • Granola
  • Marmalade
  • Oats
  • Maple syrup
  • … and so much more!

These pears with honey and cinnamon were also really fun for the family and I to put together.  Each person was able to customize their pears to their liking (execpt we all love Hudsonville ice cream!).  They are the perfect dessert for entertaining for every season.  This will definitely be on the list of must serve dishes this Thanksgiving, as well.

HOW TO MAKE PEARS WITH HONEY & CINNAMON:

STOVE TOP:

  1. Pre-heat the ove to 350 degrees.
  2. In a small bowl, mix honey and cinnamon together until well combined.  Set aside.
  3. Cut both pears in half.  Using a spoon, carefully core the middle pit of the pear.  Also, to help the pears cook flatten when cooking, I typically cut a very small sliver off the back of the pear to help in lay flat.
  4. With a spoon or brush, spread a small amount of the honey and cinnamon mixture across the top of each pear.  You may find that it seeps a bit into the middle of the pear which is ok.
  5. Place the pear halves on a baking pan and cook for 25-30 minutes depending on how soft you might like your pears.
  6. Once the cook time is up, allow the pears to cook for about 15 minutes.
  7. Once the pears cool a bit, serve with a scoop of ice cream and top with your favorite toppings.  We chose toffee crunch, walnuts and topped with the remaining honey cinnamon mixture.  Yum!

INSTANT POT:

  1. In a small bowl, mix honey and cinnamon together until well combined.  Set aside.
  2. Cut both pears in half.  Using a spoon, carefully core the middle pit of the pear.  Also, to help the pears cook flatten when cooking, I typically cut a very small sliver off the back of the pear to help in lay flat.
  3. With a spoon or brush, spread a small amount of the honey and cinnamon mixture across the top of each pear.  You may find that it seeps a bit into the middle of the pear which is ok.
  4. Add water to the bottom of the Instant Pot.  Place all 4 pear halves on a trivet then lower the trivet into the Pot.
  5. Place lid on the Instant Pot.  Select the ‘Pressure Cook’ function on high and cook for 2 minutes.
  6. Once the timer beeps, quick release all pressure.  Carefully remove the lid.
  7. Remove the trivet from the Instant Pot and set on a surface where they can cool for about 15 minutes.
  8. Once the pears cool a bit, serve with a scoop of ice cream and top with your favorite toppings.  We chose toffee crunch, walnuts and topped with the remaining honey cinnamon mixture.  Yum!
